When the topic of sports is brought up the first thing that comes to mind are usually men's sports. Women's athletics are often overlooked and discounted because some say that women are not as exciting to watch as men. However, this is not true. Throughout Purdue athletic history women's athletics seem to be more dominant, especially as of late. Just this past season, the women's basketball team made it to the second round of the NCAA tournament, while the mens basketball team did not even make it to the tournament. In 2012 and 2013 the women's team won the Big Ten Tournament. The women's volleyball team has also been very dominant this year by making it to the Elite 8. Purdue women's athletics have been very dominant at the University and have helped shaped the program into what it is today. There are many individuals who have made this possible, in here ill mention a couple of them.
